Dr. Sandraleigh Sprecker began work as a school psychologist in 1997. During her 25 years of testing and advocacy work in public schools she accumulated important insight and wisdom; how to get the best cooperation and buy-in from teachers and administrators, how giftedness and learning disabilities present in a school environment, and the differing demands of school and home, and how they are interdependent.
In 1999, after presenting on learning disabilities at a home-schooling convention, she was recruited into gifted assessment work by Kathy Kearny, a leader in the gifted-identification field.
Dr. Sprecker completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Gifted Development Center in Denver and has presented at National Association of Gifted Children conferences on overexcitabilities and visual-spatial learners.
In 1998, Dr. Sprecker founded the Silver Mountain Center to help children reach their highest potential by providing families with the information they need to help their children thrive.
She works with a therapy dog named Arwen.
